Jessica Bayes is a PhD student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Faculty of Health, who is researching men’s depression. The MENDDS research project aims to explore the current diets of young men with depression (ages 18-25) as well as assess nutrition knowledge and perspectives. This research project consists of a 7-minute online anonymous survey and an optional email interview consisting of 7 questions.

Men’s mental health is often neglected or often, in many cases, not even considered an issue. It’s important to recognise prolonged bouts of low mood amongst our friends, family and work colleagues, then reach out to these individuals and let them know they are not alone.

If you know someone who is finding life challenging please reach out and give them some support and send them to the link below where they can find information for further support and if they are a young man with depression (ages 18-25), they can participate in the study and further the advancement of research into men’s’ depression.
